My Little Assistant Chef

If you peek in my window at about 5:00 most evenings, you'll see me attempting to cook a meal while a tiny diva attempts to thwart my every move. Seriously. There's a reason Little Miss was born so adorable. Only that much adorableness and cuddliness could possibly make up for the challenges we deal with on a daily basis. We thought Super B was spunky, but he is nothing compared to her!

Here are some of her favorite things to do while I try to make dinner:

1. Scream and cry for no apparent reason.
2. Pull ingredients off the counter and take them into another room.
3. Attempt to climb up my legs.
4. Attempt to open the dishwasher, oven, cabinets, and refrigerator, and then get really angry that she can't.
5. Place herself between the cabinets and me and literally use her body to push my body away from the food I am trying to prepare.
6. Repeatedly ask for Daddy and run to the window. Cry when he's not home yet.
7. Look for interesting things to pull out of the kitchen trash.
8. Beg me for every edible (and sometimes inedible) thing in our kitchen and pantry. Things she's actually begged me for: raw potato, raw garlic, uncooked lentils, an apple core in the trashcan, butter, seeds from a bell pepper, and lots of normal foods too. Then she either throws a fit because I won't give it to her, or she refuses to eat it if it's something I decide she can have.

So that's most evenings around here.

But there are some evenings when Little Miss is in a great mood and decides she wants to "help" me cook.

And those evenings are fun! (Don't worry. I didn't actually let her play with my glass stuff.)
